Luis Santana is a New York City native photographer whose artistic mission is to preserve the authenticity of the narratives he’s discovered along his path, focusing on interpersonal connections through portraiture. Being a second-generation photographer, Santana initially used his acquired photo abilities as a primary tool to document New York City from a bonafide perspective but has since then moved on to documenting his travels throughout the United States and other countries such as Thailand, Colombia, and China - working to capture cultures and traditions that bind him closer to the concept of home. Santana has also interlaced his craft with teaching digital photography and mixed media through non-profit programs like The Josephine Herrick Project where he worked as Lead Teacher for middle schools throughout the five boroughs.
