Luis Santana is a 31-year-old second-generation photographer, multidisciplinary artist, and documentarian from New York City. Raised in his father’s studio, he grew up immersed in light, composition, and storytelling-naturally shaping his path as a studio photographer.

His work preserves and unveils authentic narratives, exploring identity, memory, and home. Through a metaphysical approach to analog photography, darkroom printing, and alternative processes, he reimagines portraiture as an act of seeing and being seen—one that transcends the physical to evoke deeper emotional and spiritual resonance.

Santana’s images navigate the weight of history, the tenderness of presence, and the unspoken. Whether documenting cultures in his travels or turning the lens inward, his work serves as both a mirror and a portal. An invitation to witness, remember, and feel.
